CLIMATE
The Philippines has two main seasons – wet and dry. The dry season is from December and May, with the Philippine summer during the months of March to May. During the wet season, the Philippines has daily monsoon rains and the occasional tropical storm. The wettest months are from July to September.
BEST TIME TO VISIT
To enjoy the sun, the beach, and all the activities that we offer, February to June would be the ideal months.
Except for the Whale Shark Interaction, all other activities can be done all year round. The Whale Sharks are in the area from November to June, with February to May being the peak months.
The weather, water conditions, and diving opportunities are still great from July to October, although it is possible to get a bit of a rain shower. If you want to enjoy Ticao Island Resort at a lower cost, it is best to take advantage of off season promotions from July to October.
AIRPORT TAX
- Local airport tax from Manila/Cebu to Legaspi is PHP200
- Local airport tax from Legaspi to Manila/Cebu is PHP30
- When leaving the Philippines, International airport tax is PHP750 from Manila and PHP500 from Cebu.
CURRENCY / MONEY
Philippine Peso
There is no ATM available on Ticao Island. If you need cash, please arrange it in Legazpi City.
ELECTRICITY
- 220 volts
- Outlets have 2 flat plugs. A limited supply of universal adapters are available at the reception area.
TIME

SECURITY & SAFETY
Ticao Island Resort has staff members that are Emergency First Response trained. The dive staff have further training for water safety. General medications are available at the reception area, but for more specific medications, we suggest bringing your own. For emergencies, a doctor and air lift assistance is available on call.
For your personal belongings, a safety deposit box is available inside each cabana. For those in the Budget Room, a safety deposit box is available at reception.
Although Ticao Island Resort takes the necessary precautions for your security and safety, you are also encouraged to take the necessary care for your safety, security, and health.
VISA
Upon entry into the Philippines, you will be granted a 21 day VISA. If in case you stay longer than 21 days, you can extend your VISA at the Immigration Office in Legaspi City. First extension request will give you an additional 39 days. Please be advised to be dressed properly. Shorts and slippers are not allowed at the Immigration Office.
