An eruption occurred at 9:15AM on 21 February 2011. Ash from the steam-triggered explosion at Bulusan reached as high as 2 kilometers. All areas within a 4 kilometer radius from Mt Bulusan are in the danger zone. LEGASPI, DONSOL, AND TICAO ISLAND ARE OUTSIDE THE DANGER ZONE AND ARE NOT AFFECTED IN ANY WAY since each of these areas are at least 50 kilometers away from Mt Bulusan. Ticao Island Resort experienced some ash fall after the eruption due to wind direction, but the ash fall was not of any major concern. Furthermore, flights in and out of Legaspi continue.
